We Spend Our Lives Searching For Meaning

Maybe, we need to make Meaning come to us instead

What makes us so desperate to find meaning in our lives? Maybe we think that we’d be happier if we could attach some purpose to the boring, repetitive tasks we do everyday. But, what if we’re getting the sequence wrong? After all, many of us believe that we’d be happy, “if only I had more money.” “If only I could find a partner who loves me like in the K-dramas.” “If only I got that promotion at work.”

“If only my parents respected my career.” Health, Money, Success, Love… Meaning. The reality is that these things come AFTER we’ve chosen to take responsibility for how we feel. ** If you’re lost in life, you’re not alone. But, you still have goals, like everyone else. Redefine your goals. Focus on achieving them and dear friends, learn to enjoy yourself along the way. If you learn to savor your progress, if you learn to take ownership and pride in your work, if you learn to appreciate the absolute beauty and the abundance of what you already have, Then, whether you like it or not, Meaning will come to you. And you’ll realize, that all along, finding “Meaning” was just an excuse for you to learn to love yourself.
